The Biggest Oil Companies Are Not Necessarily The Best Oil Companies!

What Qualities Make A Heating Oil Company Merit Your Business?

Certainly not the quality of their oil because there is no 'bottom of the barrel' or 'premium' oil available.  We all sell #2 diesel and one company's product is as good as the next.  Therefore the company that charges the least and still gets that product to you in a reliable, honest, and timely manner and is also available to maintain your heating equipment is who deserves your business.

That company is Seelig Fuel.  We are a small family-owned business, we have our own in-house service department, and our prices are amongst the lowest in the industry.  We can deliver your oil on either a will-call or automatic refill basis and you can take advantage of our $.05/gallon cash discount or arrange a budget payment plan.  We offer maintenance contracts at $110/year (senior discount 10%) and we will be happy to cover any time remaining on a contract with one of our competitors at no-charge until it would normally expire.

We promise to treat you honestly and fairly at all times.  We will not try and dazzle you with a myriad of flashy offers.  Give us a call.

We hope you are enjoying the the best in home temperature control - OIL HEAT!  People who buy homes heated with oil experience a surge in popularity unlike anything they have ever experienced in their lives.  And who is it that they have become so popular with?  Big Oil.  The biggest companies in the area with large sales staffs deluge you with telephone calls, personal visits and mounds of literature with hard-to-pass-up free offers.
BUT WE ALL KNOW YOU DON'T GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING!  We all know that they are going to get their investment back from you - and it won't take them long to do it.  Just call around to a few oil companies in the phone book, and not just the ones with the biggest ads (after all, they're the ones who sent you all the stuff in the first place), and see what the rest of us are charging.  If they are charging $.10/gallon more than Seelig, you are paying about $52.50 (plus sales tax) more for a year's heating than our customers are, and if they are charging $.25/gallon more than Seelig, you are paying about $125/year more than our customers.
So Please take the SEELIG
Fuel Challenge - Call 5 companies and compare their prices to your current company's price.  Make sure you get the same information from each company, for instance the cash price for a 200 gallon purchase on a specific date, and make sure SEELIG Fuel is one of the companies you call - (206) 789-6434.
It's possible that one or more companies you call will offer to meet your lowest bid.  Please bear in mind that the companies who make that offer are then going to charge their best customers (the customers who just assume that their company is giving them a fair deal and never compare prices) the highest price that they charge anyone.  We do not condone this practice and pledge that at Seelig Fuel everyone who buys the same quantity on the same day will be paying the same price.

OIL HEAT Is the CADILLAC OF HEATING SYSTEMS and you should be congratulation yourself for purchasing a home equipped with it.  If you have not had oil heat before you may not be aware of all the advantages to heating with oil.
OIL COSTS LESS:  The price of a gallon of heating oil has remained about the same for the past 2 decades which means that the real cost has significantly declined, unlike gas and electricity which continue to increase in price.  Also, oil-fired equipment is more efficient than gas-fired equipment.  The 1987 Federal Appliance Efficiency Standards Act requires oil burner efficiency to be at least 80% while gas burners are only required to be 75% efficient.  Oil has 1.4 times more BTUs than gas, which means you must burn 1.4 times as much gas to get the same amount of heat.
OIL FURNACES ARE THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY.  Not only is oil-fired equipment more efficient than gas-fired, but it also lasts 2 to 3 times as long.  We work on furnaces every day that are 40 years old and older.  Do you have anything else in your home that is 40 years old?  Gas furnaces are generally expected to last 12 - 15 years.
SAFETY:  There is no comparison in the safety records of oil and gas.  Oil furnaces are not explosive and they produce negligible amounts of carbon monoxide.  Oil heat is by far the safest way to heat your home.
INDEPENDENCE:  You are not reliant on the gas company distribution system to deliver fuel to you.  You never need to fear that the lines will 'Loose pressure during peak usage, i.e. the coldest weather.  Also you can change oil companies whenever you want, while if you have gas you have no choice.  SO IF GAS IS NOT CHEAPER AND THE EQUIPMENT IS NOT BETTER OR SAFER THEN WHY DO PEOPLE CONVERT TO GAS?

ADVERTISING - ADVERTISING - ADVERTISING

The gas company appears to have a virtually unlimited advertising budget.  The essence of their advertising strategy in that good people who love their families heat with gas.  But if you listen closely to what they are saying you will find that they never compare their products to oil or oil equipment, but instead compare new and old equipment, an assertion with which we agree.  The technology available 40 years ago was not nearly as advanced as the technology available today and everyone who replaces a 40 year old furnace is happy with their new equipment, regardless of the fuel used to fire it.  However, the people replacing old oil furnaces with new oil furnaces are buying safety, independence, and a furnace that will probably be lasting them for the rest of their lives.
